Dubai Museum

Opened in 1971 by the ruler of Dubai, the goal was to preserve and show the people the culture and history of Dubai. The Museum is housed in the old Al Fahidi Fort building which was built in 1799, the famous Dubai Museum is the oldest building in Dubai. There are art galleries, various traders, craftsmen, vendors at and around the museum vicinity. Other facilities include an archaeological section, marvelous exhibit and modern displays.

Jumeirah Mosque

The only open mosque in Dubai for the public to visit, both Muslims and non Muslims, is the Jumeirah Mosque. Built in a traditional ‘Fatimid’ style, the mosque gives educational tours to visitors to learn about the culture and religion of the Emirati people, there are arranged weekly visits from Saturdays to Thursdays at 10:00am. Reservations are not needed, children under 12 can freely enter while persons 12 and above will need to pay a fee of 10AED per head.
