All couples dream of having the perfect reception with no disturbance. For that to happen kids must be occupied. Sometimes it’s difficult to entertain children, especially when you have super energetic ones young ones running around while the reception is going on.  Here are some tips to keep the little ones at occupied and having fun while you enjoy your day.

#1. Craft room

Remember kids love to be creative. For younger kids, turn one room into an arts-and-crafts center. They can complete a jigsaw puzzle of your engagement photo and decorate some pink and white paper hearts to give to older guests as take home gifts. Have a coloring contest, with prizes for most colorful drawings. You can also set up a table with beads where they can make jewelry for themselves and take home. You can get them to design wedding dresses similar to the bride’s one or even get a cake for them to decorate.

#2. A Movie Room

Keep kids happy by setting up a quiet area set up for a movie. Add comfy pillows and cushions, beanbags or kiddie chairs and pop on a movie. You could even provide mini bags of popcorn! On the other hand, instead of watching a movie that same room can be turned into a production room and you can call it the “star room”, where you can get the kids to act their own movie and star in. get a friend to volunteer to come up with a short play and coordinate things on the day. You’ll need a trunk of old clothes and jewelry, a portable tape player, and several tapes for background music etc. this is a fun way to keep kids occupied for hours

#3. Professional Entertainment

If you are expecting a large number of children at your wedding, you might consider hiring a professional children’s entertainer to keep them busy while their parents enjoy themselves at the wedding reception. If your budget allows you could consider hiring some professional children’s entertainers such as magicians, fortune teller, fake tattoo painters, clowns, story-tellers, singers, etc. You’ll want to set up a designated play area to keep the children’s entertainment from clashing with the grown-up’s party. . It’s an easy way to keep the kids happy and the adults off the hook.

#4. Kid’s photo booth

When setting up your photo booth, it’s best to have a separate one for kids. You can stock it up with a lot of funny dress up items like funny hats, tutus, feather boas, and even mustache on a stick.

#5. Outdoor games

If you are having your reception in a venue which has a garden or decent outside area why not provide a whole lot of outdoor games? Outdoor games for kids such as bike riding, flying kites, bouncy castle, treasure hunt, hide and seek, lawn bowling etc. are great for keeping kids occupied and having fun for hours. You can even set up tents outside so that they can rest and eat.

The truth is kids will get bored at some point from hearing too many speeches at the reception, therefore, you need to keep them entertained for the adults to party away.
