Imagine what your wedding would look like without flowers….not completely beautiful. Flowers just have a special way of beautifying things, and the florist you select will play a major role in setting the tone for your big day. Most brides-to-be are faced with the question of how to find how to choose the most beautiful wedding flower bouquet, a florist they can fully trust, which flowers are available at that time of year etc. We have come up with a few tips to consider before choosing your florist and flowers.

Flowers

#1. The right florist

If you are good with flowers then this step might not be necessary. Otherwise you will need the services of a florist and picking the right one is important.

Ask for referrals from family and friends on florists that they know. Schedule and interview with florist and ask all the questions you need to ask about what you want. Make sure your florist shows you pictures of his or her work so you can know their taste.

Communicate frequently with your florist. Remember that communicating what you want is as important as communicating what you don’t want.

#2. Budget

Choosing the right flowers goes beyond them being beautiful. It also involves them being within your set budget. Its normal for any professional florist to first ask about your budget. This is so that they can get what you want at the price you can afford.

#3. Scented flowers

While it may be nice to have scented flowers on display all around the hall, it could turn out to be disastrous if your guests are allergic to the smell. To be on the safe side, just stick to natural flowers with mild scent or artificial flowers with no scent at all.

#4. Colors

Having the right combination of colors is a very important factor when choosing the flowers. Some people, for the fear of making bad color choices tend to stick to only one color (mostly the theme color), which is not also a very good idea because it might look boring. A professional florist however, should be able to blend at least three or four colors that will still present an amazing look.

#5. Season

There are different beautiful flowers for different seasons of the year. You might want to incorporate the flower in season in your wedding. Think about having some sun flowers if your wedding is during summer. Talk to your florist to give you more details on this. On the other hand, flowers like roses are a year round’s favorite.

#6. Search early

Regardless of if you’re picking your flowers yourself or if you’re hiring a florist you need to start early. Picking the right flowers is not a one day affair and with your florist you need to at least meet up three times before the wedding, so set aside some time for it to avoid rushing.

Your wedding day will no doubt be beautiful and exceptional and flowers will play a major role in achieving that. From the bouquet that you and your maids will be carrying to the display of the eye-catching centerpieces in your reception room will all wow your guests if only you get the right flowers.
